A word from the artist …

I fell in love with felting in 2006. Immersion into the characteristics of fibres, the stories they tell, the meditative practice of layout and rolling, the versatility, the ability of felt to be decorative, functional, wearable, practical, approachable, warm and comforting, striking and mysterious.. takes you to your primeval past, into the story of creation and survival, into the micro and macro systems of the natural world, into your dream states and into spirit.. in the process of felting you are looking forwards and backwards, face chaos and change, practice patience and acceptance.
Rumi captures this love so beautifully.

In your light, I learn how to love. In your beauty, how to make poems.
You dance inside my chest where no one sees you.
But sometimes I do, and that sight becomes this art.

Growing up in the Tweed Valley (Northern NSW, Australia), close to the mountains, rainforest and ocean… what a gift. A gift that is still being unwrapped as I explore my growing older, growing wiser, growing more playful with my roots so bound to the Natural world around me. The ‘wildly creative’ journey I took through different mediums before falling in love with this one was like a tornado of seeking … at last my soul has found its home.

I wish to tread lightly through my world, to bring my visions into being in a practical way -felting gives me a chance to let go of words and express the love in my soul.
